Down the Rabbit Hole

Thank you to everyone who came out for our Alice-themed salon. That was a pretty good crowd for midnight! And thank you to Carolyn, our lovely Dormouse, for keeping our cups full of tea.

We began with a group reading of “Jabberwocky” from Through the Looking – Glass and What Alice Found There.

We continued from Through the Looking-Glass with Vikki Likkerish reading from Chapter IX where Alice discovers what it is like to be a Queen.

Cameryn Moore, the Phone Whore, read an original piece of erotica (really more like smut) called “Hole”.

Jackie Raboin read “The Walrus and the Carpenter” from Through the Looking – Glass and What Alice Found There.

Miss Mina followed with the short story inspired by the previous poem: “The Sea Was Wet as Wet Could Be” by Gahan Wilson from the collection Blood Is Not Enough: 17 Stories of Vampirism.

Ivy Bowers read a selection from Alice in Quantumland: An Allegory of Quantum Physics about Alice at the particle masquerade.

We finished the evening with the poem “A boat beneath a sunny sky” from Through the Looking – Glass and What Alice Found There, read by Jackie.

As it turns out, none of our works came from Alice In Wonderland! Sort of ironic, isn’t it?

If you’re looking for a good collection of the Alice books, The Naked Girls recommend Martin Gardner’s The Annotated Alice: The Definitive Edition.

We’ll see you at our next salon and until then, read naked!
